What sort of shooting can I do at the Club?
Types of Shooting Available:

How many ranges are there at the Club?
We have 7 outdoor ranges :
100 metres (3 firing point) for high velocity centre-fire rifle
100 metres (12 firing point) for .22, blackpowder & pistol calibre rifles.
50 metres (4 firing point) for as above plus blackpowder pistols.
25 metres (15 firing point) for as above plus precision air pistol.
25 metres (9 firing point) for as above plus police pistol disciplines.
21 metres practical shooting range.
40 metres (8 firing point) for crossbow disciplines plus archery.
We also have a 10 metre (10 firing point) indoor airgun range.
As a member, would I be insured?
Each member and their equipment is fully insured, whilst at the range, or being used by them on club business at other ranges, and their equipment is covered whilst in storage at their home.
I don’t have an FAC, can I join ?
Yes but you will need to request and complete an application form which will require you to provide suitable references. You will also need to provide two passport type photos of yourself and the prescribed fee.
What happens next ?
You will require a club sponsor, who must be an existing club full member,
a visit to the club may help with getting a member to sponsor
you if you don't know someone, please contact our
Administrator who will tell you more about the club and the
required training you will have to undertake. This training period will be for a minimum of three months during which time you will
undertake a course on the safe handling of firearms. Upon satisfactory completion of this period you
should qualify for full membership of the club.
Note: If you
are wanting to join the club just as an airgun or bow sports
member, the joining process is a little simpler, please
contact our administrator for full details.
I am or was a full member of a similar club. Can I join ?
Yes but you will need to request and complete an application form which will require you to provide a suitable reference from your previous club. You will also need to provide two passport type photos of yourself and the prescribed

required probation period you will have to undertake, which will be for a minimum of three months.
What happens next ?
Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period you
should qualify for full membership of the club.
I am an existing FAC holder. Can I join ?
Yes but you will need to request and complete an application form.
You will also be required to provide a copy of the front of your FAC and if you are or were a member of a similar club you will be expected to provide a suitable reference from your previous club.
You will also need to provide two passport type photos of yourself and the prescribed
fee. A club sponsor is also required, who must be an existing club full member,
a visit to the club may help with getting a member to sponsor
you if you don't know someone, please contact our
Administrator who will tell you more about the club and the
required probation period you will have to undertake, which will be for a minimum of three months.
What happens next ?
Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period you
should qualify for full membership of the club.
What does it cost to be a member of Swadlincote Rifle & Pistol Club ?
Subscriptions are paid annually and currently the standard sub amounts to
£152 per year. There are reduced amounts for senior, spouse, young persons and junior members. There are no range fees but there is a small charge for using club firearms.
For new members there is a joining fee which is currently set
at £50. The club pays for team entries if any member wishes to take part in team postal competitions.
Subscriptions
become due following the AGM in October. Members are expected
to pay promptly and within a reasonable time, failure to do so
can incur penalties or even exclusion from the club.
